66" (42.02" Diameter) Hemispherical Spherachute
Diameter: 42.02"
Spill Hole Diameter: 5.25"
Number of Gores/Panels: 8
Payload: 5.2-9.4 lbs. at a 5,000ft elevation (for more elevations view our decent rate chart)
Optionally you can add weather balloon attachments which creates a connection point at the top of the canopy with two lines across the spill hole (last picture for reference).
Classic: Classic shroud lines are made out of Mil-C 5040 Type IA suspension line (100lbs Load Rating) and the canopy is made of 1.9 oz. Ripstop Nylon. This style weighs 5.2 oz. and when packed by Spherachutes is 5"X4"X1.75". This chute has a nice balance between durability and weight, so if you want a multipurpose parachute with little limitations or aren't sure what to get, choose the Classic Spherachute.
Heavy Duty: Heavy Duty shroud lines are made out of Mil-C 5040 Type IIA suspension line (225 lbs. Load Rating) and the canopy is made out of 1.9 oz. Ripstop Nylon. Shroud lines are sewn on the outside of the canopy to increase strength and 1/2" Grossgrain Tape is sewn around the spill hole and over the shroud lines for even more durability. This style weighs a bit more at 6.4 oz. and when packed by Spherachutes is 5"X5"X2". Because of the Heavy Duty's strength, this parachute is a great option to use as a drogue.
Ultralight: Ultralight shroud lines are made out of Mil-C 5040 Type IA suspension line (100 lbs. Load Rating) and the canopy is made of .66 oz. Nylon Taffeta. This style weighs only 2.6 oz. and when packed by Spherachutes is 4.5"X3.5"X1.25". Because of its weight and small packing size, the Ultralight is great for weather balloons, minimum diameter rockets, and high altitudes.
